Hair, MUA, T-shirt, photo : me
Model : part of me ;-)
I think that one of my dear watchers will appreciate that for once I didn't use someone else's ref. He told me several times I should create more instead of copying others art. I answered I was learning, and that I like my refs. Then I drove him to #Draw-Along and he was so surprised, he didn't tell me such a thing anymore. In a way he's not wrong ... So for this time everything is mine. I love this picture, but wanted to improve before drawing a portrait of my sweatheart. Not too bad, scanning changed it a bit, but that's her undoubtedly.. Still shy on shadows, I work on it ... And don't worry, I'll be back drawing along with my dear friends  !!!
Hope you like it. All critics are of course very welcome.

I think I see which parts are you,and I see what you mean being shy on shadows... so you could get better, thats true.

But I also see that from that ocean of thumbnails at the pencilclub,I picked THIS picture as the most interesting, the eyecatcher, the really good stuff.
So dont give a damn about what youre still practising and just go on for your already has what it takes..great work.

Greetings from a European neighbor..

Hehe,dangerous..I first read "from" with a forgotten "m" instead of a twisted "for"...
Typical German thing to search for how I could feel offended,I guess.Although I had no right to be offended since I AM still a wannabe..in some ways.
In other ways Im already a full-scale artist,AND SO ARE YOU!!

Youre too good to call yourself a wannabe, and isnt an artist defined by what he means to say and to do more than only by his/her technical skills?

Believe me,you already ARE an artist,no matter how much better your technique could become!

You're right, sorry FOR that mistal=ke ;-)

You're right that art starts as soon as s.o hold a pencil, a brush, a mouse or what ever media. I just have objectives, and I still have not reached them. That's the way I'm still a wannabe. Thanks again :)

Yeah...know what you mean, and of course youre right in that way of looking.I think so about my own artwork, too.
But it cheers you up when, from time to time look at it the way Scott McCloud does:As soon as youre drawing without any reason but just to draw, its art.
Which of course, would make real art quite rare if take that definition all to strict: When painting or drawing,of course I also do it for the attention,to practise, for eventual financial success and so on...but I dont draw dragons because people like dragons,I do because ME likes dragons and if people like my pics well, thats a bonus. So from SOME point of view....

My own definition of art would also add meaning.Do I wanna say something with my work or want my work to say something?
In that definition,Im more a artisan than an artist.Just want my work to get better and better..but again, when drawing a big,fat dragon,I also want my picture to transport that its a BIG,FAT DRAGON and you wouldnt wanna go anywhere near it in real life..so I want my work to speak, although I dont try to let pictures describe my deep inner pain or something...

Anyway,I just assume were both gonna achieve our goals one day, huh?
Coming to think of it,perhaps we should talk about some collab?

:? collab? I don't really know how that could be, but anyway I have already not enough time to draw what I'd like. Furthermore our inspiration worlds are quiet different ...
Let me kno wwhat you think of ...

Yeah..reconsidering it,I guess I didnt really think that through.I had something like some "you draw-I paint" in mind, but Im not sure if Im good enough for that with someone of your skills level yet...Gotta try me out first...

Excellent job Claude! And what beautiful little girl you have!

The shading on her right hand stands out as particularly articulated and good! Also love the work you did on the rope and her shirt. Her face could use just a smidge more shadows, but like you said you're working on it, and for now the lighting you did on the face is excellent.
Kudos for a thorough job on the background, too! You've clearly not neglected to pay plenty of attention to that, too!
Great work overall!

I worked hard on this one as I wanted her to recognize herself and to like it, she does, so I'm happy with that. I could have been better with her eyes, but unfortunately the ref wasn't that good.
Anyway I try to improve each time, following my models  ;-) I mean ;-) :giggle:
